What is OSSD?
OSSD란?
The Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is a diploma awarded to secondary school graduates in Ontario, Canada. OSSD is recognized by most universities in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Australia, and other English-speaking countries.
OSSD(Ontario Secondary School Diploma)는 캐나다 온타리오주에서 중등학교 졸업생에게 수여하는 졸업장입니다. OSSD는 미국, 캐나다, 영국, 홍콩, 호주 및 기타 영어권 국가의 대부분의 대학에서 인정합니다.
OSSD Graduation Requirements

30 Credits
Completion of a total of 30 credits: 18 required subjects + 12 elective subjects
* If you attended a previous high school, credits from your previous school are also recognized.

* 이전 고등학교를 다녔다면 이전 학교의 학점도 인정됩니다.
Local Literature Test
There is a state literature test available online. Our Ontario International School can also help you study for this test.
*The test will be either pass or fail.
온라인으로 주 정부 문학 시험이 있습니다. 저희 온타리오국제학교는 이 시험 공부 또한 도와드립니다.
*테스트는 합격 또는 불합격으로 진행됩니다.
Community Service
40 hours community service required. Volunteer work, school events, etc.
*Students studying abroad can receive recognition by submitting a certificate of completion of volunteer work as evidence.

The OSSD is accepted by top-tier universities including Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Toronto, and McGill, despite its easier admission requirements than other Anglo-American high school diplomas or pre-university programs (IB, A-Level, and AP).
OSSD는 다른 영미권 고등학교 졸업장이나 대학 예비과정에 해당하는 국제 중등 학위(IB, A-Level, AP)에 비해 입학 조건이 수월함에도 불구하고 하버드, MIT, 스탠포드, 토론토, 맥길 등을 비롯한 최상위권 대학에서 인정받고 있습니다.
GPA Evaluation Criteria

Ontario International Degree Programmes do not judge students on exam-oriented study that they think is a challenge. Teachers assigned to the course evaluate high school GPA through 70% homework for each subject 30% final exam.
온타리오 국제학위과정은 학생들이 이렵게 생각하는 시험 위주 공부로 학생을 평가하지 않습니다. 과정에 배정된 교사진이 각 과목별 숙제를 70% + 기말고사 30%를 통해 고등학교 GPA를 평가합니다.
Credit-Based Learning
학점 기반 학습
You can determine your learning pace by choosing how many credits you want to take per semester. You can take up to 5 credits (courses) per semester and study them in conjunction with an ESL course.
한 학기에 수강할 학점을 선택하여 학습 속도를 결정할 수 있습니다. 한 학기에 최대 5학점(과목)을 이수할 수 있으며 ESL 과정과 함께 공부할 수 있습니다.

OSSD internationally recognizes credits earned from high schools in other provinces and countries. Up to 24 credits are accepted.

매일매일 공부하는 OSSD
Ontario International School understands the challenges of online learning for high school students. We developed the curriculum online in user-friendly Canvas and broke it down into daily studies so students could easily follow it. On average, you will study under the guidance of a teacher via email and live classroom for 6 hours a day. To ensure students take responsibility for their own learning, we blend online training with 60% self-study and 40% live courses with teachers checking in on students’ work.
온타리오국제학교는 고등학생의 온라인 학습의 어려움을 잘 알고 있습니다. 사용자 친화적인 Canvas에서 온라인으로 커리큘럼을 개발하고 학생들이 쉽게 따라갈 수 있도록 커리큘럼을 매일매일 공부하도록 나누었습니다. 평균적으로 하루 6시간 동안 이메일과 실시간 강의실을 통해 선생님의 지도하에 공부하게 됩니다. 학생이 자신의 학습에 대한 책임을 지도록 하기 위해 온라인 교육을 60% 자율 학습과 40% 교사가 지도하고있는 학생들의 작업을 확인하는 라이브 과정과 혼합했습니다.
